Biography: Moved into the starting lineup as a senior after seeing action as a reserve lineman the prior two years.
Positives: King size, developmental lineman that displayed tremendous progress in 2011. Quickly sets up off the snap, keeps his feet moving and works to stay square. Moves well on his feet, quick out to the second level and squares into linebackers, removing them from the action. Shows the ability to adjust and knock speed rushers from their angle of attack. Nimble, displays limited stiffness in his game and blocks with good lean.
Negatives: Must do a better job playing to his size as he is easily pushed back off the line by opponents. Marginal playing strength and rarely finishes blocks. Needs to improve his pass protection skills.
Analysis: Baker is a terrific athlete with the size and movement skills to play at the next level. Lining up at left tackle for East Carolina, he's better suited for the strong side and will need a year in NFL weight training program before he's ready to play at the next level.
