Sam
Cowart 2nd round, 39th overall Linebacker, Florida
State Comments: Playmaking outside linebacker who should
move in for departed free agent Bryce Paup. Cowart has a
history of knee problems, and how long will he hold up in cold weather on
AstroTurf? … if healthy, a good pick. Robert
Hicks 3rd round, 68th overall Tackle, Mississippi
State Comments: Mammoth right tackle candidate. He's a
little bit raw as a pass blocker, and his feet get tangled up at times.
It's over when he locks on in the run game. Bills don't have anything at
right tackle, may have to start and learn as he goes. Jonathan
Linton 5th round, 131st overall Fullback, North
Carolina Comments: Versatile player who played tailback
and fullback in college. Doesn't have big-time speed, but is a productive
guy. Catches the ball well. Need to find him a role in the offense. Fred
Coleman 6th round, 160th overall Receiver,
Washington Comments: Productive college player with not a
lot of publicity ... has pretty good hands and some deep speed ... the key
for Bills will be his ability to separate from NFL cornerbacks ... could
stick as No. 4 or 5 receiver with a little bit of an upside. Victor
Allotey 7th round, 198th overall Guard, Indiana
Comments: As a seventh-round pick, he is almost a lock to
stick because of marginal depth on Bills offensive line, especially at
guard ... mostly a defensive tackle in college, with only one year on the
offensive line ... has enough size and toughness to progress fairly quickly
but Bills may not have luxury of putting him on practice squad. Kamil
Loud 7th round, 238th overall Receiver, Cal
Poly-San Luis Obispo Comments: Productive small-college
guy with excellent speed and dominated on his level ... has some upside but
it's a big jump to the NFL and he appears to be ticketed for the practice
squad unless he adjusts quickly in training camp.
