| Summary
He is somewhat of an over achiever playing DE on a great college football team. Started his career at Michigan at TE, but moved to defense and has been a three year starter for the Wolverine front 4. Finished 1997 season with 42 tackles, 14 TFLs and 7 sacs. He is an old time warrior that battles on every play and is tenacious and refuses to be blocked. He has good initial quickness and has a great feel for rush lanes and seems to be a very instinctive player that is always around the ball. He isn't particularly pretty or nifty and he lacks great AA and speed, but he is a functional football player. He is not a real linear guy that can race off the corner and his skills are actually more suited to be an inside DT, but he lacks the size and bulk to handle that role. He does a solid job versus the run and has the ability to get off blocks and stack at the POA. This is one of the best "try hard" guys in this draft. He is one of those players that you almost have to throw out the measurables if you're going to select him. He plays much better than his numbers indicate, but the question here will be, can he get any better? This is a solid football player that may not have much more to develop, but could certainly add some competitiveness and toughness to an NFL defensive line.
