Summary

One of the hottest OLs in this draft has come out of nowhere to be a legitimate prospect. Followed up a solid Senior Bowl week with an excellent Indy Combine workout, where he excelled athletically in almost all areas. He has excellent AA, as evidenced by his background at DE and TE and also basketball. Started career at A & M as DE and then moved to OG and has been a two year starter. He has great movement and agility for his size. He is excellent adjusting in the open field and very adept at pulling. He does a good job of finding the defender and putting himself in excellent position to make the play. He has good range for an OG on his pass pro and he can mirror and slide as well as anybody. Despite his outstanding BP of 34 at Indy, he does not play quite as strong on the field. He is really more of a position player than a power and mauler type. He has improved his on the field strength and power, but is still not a dominating type guy. He wins his battles by his AA, feet, and position and he also plays with good intelligence. His strength and size have steadily improved in the last two years and there is no reason that it should not continue. This may be the most athletic OG in the draft and it may take him another year to get to the strength level that makes him a complete player, but he's certainly worth the gamble. There is not much down side on this guy, but tremendous up side.
