| Summary
This is a perfect example of a player where you don't judge the book by its cover. He is an excellent college player with outstanding productivity and plays a lot better than he looks. He is a very intelligent and instinctive player that anchored the outstanding Nebraska line. He started at LOG in 1995, OC in 1996 and LOG again in 1997. He also won the Outland Trophy as a senior and was an All American in both '96 and '97. He does not have NFL height and he is a very thick player with big legs and thighs. He has excellent playing strength and is a better athlete than he looks. He is very explosive at the POA and plays with natural leverage and he knows how to roll his hips and get under the defender's pads. He is a very effecient and instinctive player that is rarely on the ground and puts himself in excellent position to finish his blocks. He is better in space than one might anticipate. He has adequate pass pro skills, but doesn't have a lot of experience in Nebraska's run oriented offense. However, he has the feet and movement to learn the pass game. This is a player that you have to throw out the book in terms of measurables when evaluating. He is an old-fashioned football player that defies the odds and if given a legitimate shot, he will be a solid contributor to an NFL team at OC or OG. Despite his limitations, this is a guy that you want on your football team. The production on the field is solid and the intangibles and leadership off the field are outstanding. He may not be a real hot guy on draft day, but somebody will get a good football player when they select Taylor.
