Summary

Highly though of going into senior year, but really has tailed off as a draft prospect. Senior year was cut short by a variety of injuries and he has never had a real injury free year after a promising start at UT. He only recorded 20 tackles with no TFLs or sacks in '97 in a limited role. He is a typical big, wide body DT that is very thick and is a load at the POA. He may be better as an NT in a 34 defense, although he could certainly handle a DT spot in a 4-3. He has excellent power and stong lower body strength and explosion. He is a better two gap player, but he has a little one gap quickness and ability to penetrate. He does a good job of stack at the POA, but he does have some problem with his shed. He doesn't always get off blocks and he tends to get cut a lot and doesn't play with a lot of awareness or agility. He does not have a variety of pass rush moves and relies primarily on a bull rush and his strength to over power the OL. He has a little bit of a straight line and although he did not work straight line player and although he did not workout at the combine, he will not be a guy that tests well and shines with AA. If he can stay healthy, he could be a solid and dependable run stuffer on the NFL level, but he probably will not provide a lot of pass rush or big playes. Big body run stuffer type guys are hard to find and this is certainly one of them if he can stay on the field.
