Summary

Was a hot guy early in the 1997 season and then cooled off somewhat, but is still a decent prospect. He is a three year starter and finished the 1997 season with 60 tackels, 7 TFLs and 14 sacks, and was named to the All Bid Twelve team. He is somewhat of an improving player that has gotten better as a pass rusher in his senior year. He has good initial quickness and comes off the ball well and plays with a little explosiveness and leverage. He has a knack for getting to the QB and does a nice job on choosing the right angles and gaps to make the play. He is not real effective at the POA and doesn't always stack and shed very well and doesn't make a lot of plays getting off blocks. He is best when he has a clean shot to the QB or ball carrier. He has some one gap quickness, but he will never be an effective two gap guy on the NFL level. He is a little more productive than his numbers would indicate and he is not really a gifted athlete in any particular area. He is almost an over achiever that works to make the play. As an inside guy, he also does not always show great awareness and can get knocked off his feet. He's an intersting guy because of his size and production, but he is not a player that will dazzle coaches in the training camp.
