| Summary
Did not work out at the combine, but he is a fairly easy guy to evaluate. He has been a very productive player for the Fighting Irish, and has contributed as a sprinter on the track team, as well as being a 3-year starter and also doubling as a solid PR. Finished the 1997 season with 53 tackles and 2 Int., but added PRs, as well as kick off returns to his resume as a senior. He is a little guy that is an outstanding athlete. He has great quickness and good overall speed, and while he has good m/m cover skills and a short burst, he has a lot of trouble matching up on bigger receivers. He is an instinctive guy that makes good decisions and is very smooth in his turns and hips. For all of his skills, he is simply a guy that can be pushed around by a big WR, and it will be more pronounced on the NFL level. He is a willing tackler for a little guy and he has been very durable in has missed very little time in his career. His return ability both as a KOR and PR gives him a legitimate chance to stick on an NFL roster and he could fill in as a nickle DC, but he is not going to get any bigger and the team that drafts him will have to live with his size and put him in situations that he doesn’;t get outmuscled or overwhelmed. This is a good college football player that deserves a shot at the next level.
