| Summary
He is a player that is quicker than fast, and while he has some excellent qualities, he may really struggle in the NFL in terms of overall speed. His 40 time at the combine of 4.60 is certainly not exciting to NFL teams, although he plays a little faster and more athletic than he looked. He is great in the quickness and COD areas and is a very fluid little athlete. He has had great production for Alabama as a 4-year starter at DC and finished the 1997 season with 34 tackles and he also has some limited ability as a punt returner. He has an excellent feel for the game, but he is another small DC that will have trouble matching up against big WRs that will outmuscle him in coverage....and although he covers well on the college level, he does not have the type of speed to stay with a big time NFL WR on deep routes. He does not appear to have a big burst or suddenness to catch up, and he is not a very big and physical guy that will be an asset vs. the run, although he is competitive. He is simply a good little college player that might have a spot as a nickle DC or back-up, but will never have the deep speed that NFL teams are looking for.
