| Summary
He is a four year starter that has had decent production in his career for the Bear Cats. He was banged up a little bit in 1997, but finished with 47 tackles, 10 TFLs and 6 sacks. He has played both DE and DT and has a pretty good feel for the game. He has some inside one gap type quickness and he shows some pass rush skills when he can beat the OL off the ball. He uses his hands well and does a decent job staying on his feet and getting off blocks and finding the ball inside. He has decent technique on his pass rush and shows a little variety of moves and generally plays under control, however, he is a guy that will disappear at times and rally tease you. He is not consistent in his effort and chase and will flat out take some plays off. When he gets tired, like a lot of big players, he tends to play straight legged and high and makes himself more vulnerable to be blocked. He has played mostly DE in college, but he lacks the speed or burst to be an edge guy and he will probably be projected inside where he can use his size in one gap quickness, although at 287 pounds, he is still probably 10 to 15 pounds shy of having great DT bulk. However, he appears to be a guy that may lose stamina and durability when he gets bigger. He did a decent job at the Senior Bowl and did not look out of place. He will have to come to an NFL training camp in good shape and play every down or he will get an early exit, but he does have an up side.
