Summary

Nice size player that didn’t become a starter until 1997, but contributed early in his career on special teams and as a back-up DS. He finished 1997 with 52 tackles and 2 Int. He has an outstanding AA background, and he recorded excellent numbers at the combine in all of the skill areas, although he did not have a great 40 time. He is quicker than fast, but a very smooth athlete. He does not play quite as athletic as you would think on film, and he is not a real instinctive or aggressive player. He has some natural range in zone coverages, although he is not around the ball as much as he should. He is a willing run support guy, but he does not always show great breakdown in the open field, and he is not a great consistent tackler in space. He does have excellent special teams ability and he should be able to contribute in this area while he is improving. Something seems to be missing in this guy. His numbers indicate that he should be more of a dynamic player, and yet he is one of those guys that doesn’t make very many magical things happen. However, some NFL team will gamble that they can pull out these qualities on the next level.
