Summary

He is a one year starter for the Ducks, although he has played a lot in his career as part of a two TE offense. He finished 1997 with 36 catches for 573 yards and 6 TDs. He is a very steady player that does not excite in any particular area, but he has good production. He plays with good awareness and seems to have a solid feel for the passing game and has a knack of getting open. He is a very competitive guy with good toughness and aggressiveness and will fight for the ball in traffic. He is not afraid to go over the middle and will make the tough catch. He also fights for extra yards after the catch and is very physical in the passing game. His hands are good and he concentrates well on the ball. He does not, necessarily, make the spectacular catch or really stretch a defense, but he is dependable. He is only an adequate blocker and not real physical at the POA. He is more of a position type and does a decent job down field, but won't blow anybody off the ball. If he can improve his blocking skills as an NFL rookie, he has a chance to develop into a nice player. He may never be a big producer, but he is a steady guy and should find a spot on some roster.
