Summary

He had an outstanding Indy workout that caught a lot scouts' and coaches' attention. He had a fine BP of 28 and a VJ of 35 1/2" while running the 40 in 4.70. Finished 1997 with 56 tackles, 14 TFLs and 1 1/2 sacks and was all the MEAC discus and shot put champ. He has outstanding AA and quickness and excellent lower body explosion as evidenced by a 35" VJ. He looks like the prototype 4-3 DE and he shows some flashes coming off the corner and in space. He has the speed to chase down plays and he is so athletic that he can be a disruptive force. He has long arms and does an adequate job of protecting his body and getting separation. His problem is, he may be a better athlete than a football player. He really has no knowledge of pass rush techniques and is not a technically sound player. He does not always find the ball and in spite of his AA, he does not always dominate like he should on that level. He will need time to learn pass rush techniques and how to play the run, but there is so much AA and up side that he is an exciting developmental project. It will be interesting to see if he's a raw guy that will really improve or just a big, good looking athlete that is nothing more than a teaser.
