| Summary
Most of his athletic background is in basketball. He is a JC transfer that came to Cincinnati as a hoopster and didn't come out for football until the beginning of the 1997 season, after his basketball eligibility had run out. He started slowly, but finished the season as a starter at TE with very little production. He is obviously a good athlete and runs well and has a good up side. He has very little experience catching the ball, but inside sources say he has some naturalness in the receiving area. He also has much better strength and power than one would think, being a former basketball player, but it has yet to transfer to the football field. He needs all sorts of development in techniques and overall skills and doesn't have a clue on route running and blocking at this stage. However, he looks the part and is athletic enough to be an intriguing late pick or free agent, but he may be one to two years away from being any type of polished player. He will be certainly worth a look, but it is difficult for NFL teams to carry guys like this for a long time. He could be a semi-hot free agent if he's not drafted.
