| Summary
Dutton is a transfer from the University of Texas, and he put together solid back to back seasons at a lower level of competition at the University of Nevada. He is a classic, drop back style passer that has good overall mechanics and arm strength, but not a cannon arm. He is adequate on the deep ball, and shows good overall touch. He has really shown improvement in his Sr. year, in terms of field vision and decision making, and is starting to do a better job of picking out secondary receivers. He does not throw a lot of interceptions, and generally seems to make the right moves on the field. While he has decent overall speed and AA, he is not really a scrambler, but he does show good toughness when flushed out of the pocket, and he will take a hit.. This is a player that is receiving a lot of attention among NFL teams, and for those teams not able to go up and get one of the “big 2” at the top of the draft, he will be a very interesting option later, possibly even in the 3rd round. He is perceived as a young man with all the physical tools, but will need seasoning. He does have a high upside....The only question will be his level of competition, but that does not bother a lot of teams.
