| Background
Blackmon came out of nowhere upon entering the Morris Brown program....arrived at MBC as a non-recruit....worked as an assistant equipment manager washing uniforms to help pay for his tuition & room-and- board....walked on in 1994 and over the past three seasons, has matured into one of the top defensive backs and most dangerous punt return men in the country....during his career has intercepted 11 passes, returning 2 for TDs....in ‘96, returned back-to-back punts for TDs (were a minute apart, and both covered 87 yds)....at end of season was ranked 2nd in nation in punt return averaging 16.1 yds per return....during summer, named to preseason All-SIAC team as both return specialist and DB....

| Summary
Small school guy that has gained some attention in the post-season. He did not have a great 1997 season and missed several games with a hairline fracture of his vertabrae. He is an outstanding young athlete that also has had good production as a track sprinter. He did not run particularly well at the Indy combine, but he did complain of an ankle sprain. However, his other numbers were not overly impressive, and they didn’t quite match the athlete you think you see on film. He does have good overall quickness and movement, and is a very fluid and natural athlete. He doesn’t have a lot of wasted motion, he breaks on the ball well, and his footwork is good for a guy that hasn’t had a lot of NFL type coaching. He has natural cover skills and although he will need some refining and technique work, there is a strong upside here and he can also double as a return specialist. He is not a big physical guy, and will probably only be adequate in run support, but he is a good enough tackler that he should be able to get by. His 40 times at the combine seem out of place, and it is likely that he will run much better just before the draft. If that is the case, he could be a fairly hot guy on draft day, but will require some time to develop and learn techniques and cover skills, but he may be able to contribute early as a return specialist. There is a lot to like about this guy.
