| Summary
He is a player that was projected as a potential 1st Rd. pick after his junior year, but he has really cooled off on many NFL draft boards, although he is still a solid football player. He did not work out at the combine which certainly didn’t help him, but he does have good overall skills. He finished the 1997 season with 39 tackles and 5 Int., but he has been a solid punt returner for the last 3 years for the Vols. He is a very smooth player with excellent quickness and COD, and he had good run skills in the open field as a PR. He has the ability to turn and run, and he is smooth in the hips, and at times will show good overall ball skills and the ability to close on the ball. He is not very big and physical, but he does enough to get by. Something seems to be missing here.....He is a good football player that is not playing up to his ability. Some may feel that he is overrated to begin with, but the feeling here is that there is more ability and upside to this guy than some people realize. Unless his times are bad, he could still be a first day draft pick as a cover DC and PR.
