| Summary
Like most other Gators, he chose not to work out at the Indy combine. He is a 3-year starter for Florida and has been very productive and dependable, finishing the 1997 season with 39 tackles and 6 Int. He is almost an overachiever at DC and plays more productive than his skills would indicate. He does not have great size or blazing speed, but he is always around the ball and has a great feel for the game. He has excellent closing skills and seems to read the QB as well as anybody on the college level. He has great anticipation when the ball is in the air, and has a little closing quicks, although he is not a DC with much of a burst or the ability to go deep with quality WRs. He has had good success on special teams as a kick blocker and he is a great overall competitor. This is a player that won’t measure up athletically to a typical NFL DC, but he is so instinctive and productive that he may have a chance to stick on an NFL roster as a back-up, nickle-type inside DC and special teams performer. He is not a guy that you would bet against on draft day.
