BOB GRIESE
Bob Griese missed much of the Perfect Season after he broke his right fibula and dislocated his ankle in Week 5. He returned to action in the second half of the AFC Championship Game against Pittsburgh, rallying his team by throwing a 52-yard pass to Paul Warfield to set up the go-ahead touchdown. In attempting just 11 passes in Super Bowl VII, connecting on eight of them for 88 yards, the quarterback embodied the Dolphins' prevailing characteristic: a willingness to sacrifice personal goals for the sake of the team.
