BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- The Cleveland Browns on Friday placed safety Tim McTyer was on the injured reserve list, meaning he will miss the rest of the season.

McTyer, who started the first two games, broke his left forearm two weeks ago in a 26-9 loss to the Tennessee Titans. He was projected at the time to miss about 6-to-8 weeks.

"We felt that if he was going to be out for that long, it left only four weeks of the season for him to play," Browns director of football operations Dwight Clark said. "We thought it was best to put Tim on IR instead of trying to rush him back and risk further injury."

Reserve cornerback Antonio Langham is questionable for Sunday's home game with the New England Patriots with a broken thumb.
