SEATTLE (AP) -- Joey Galloway had an inkling he was going to play all week. He found out for sure he was going to get to face the Denver Broncos while sitting on the couch watching ESPN on television on Saturday. The sports network flashed the news across the bottom of the screen that the Seattle Seahawks had activated him for Sunday night's game. "It felt great to be back," said Galloway, who caught four passes for 88 yards in Seattle's 20-17 victory. "It's been a long time," he added. Galloway made critical catches of 39 and 28 yards in Seattle's final two scoring drives after the Seahawks trailed 17-10. "It feels good to beat Denver," said Galloway, who played in his last game at Mile High Stadium last Dec. 27, a 27-21 victory by the Broncos that was their sixth win in a row over Seattle. Galloway, who ended his holdout on Tuesday, didn't wait long to make his first catch of the season for the Seahawks. Coach Mike Holmgren put Galloway in for Seattle's seventh play in the opening quarter against the Denver Broncos and the receiver caught a 6-yard pass from Jon Kitna on his eighth play. The catch helped the Seahawks get to the Denver 17 and Todd Peterson kicked a 35-yard field goal to give them a 3-0 lead. Galloway's last two catches had the Broncos talking to themselves. He caught his 39-yarder on the final play of the third quarter to help set up a 43-yard field goal by Peterson in the first minute of the final period that cut Denver's lead to 17-13. In the fourth quarter, he made his acrobatic 28-yard catch of a ball that Kitna threw behind him that helped set up Kitna's 20-yard winning touchdown pass to Sean Dawkins. Dale Carter, Denver's outstanding cornerback, was trying to defend Galloway on each play. "The guy is good, man," said Carter. "It was Galloway's night." Galloway, the team's leading receiver last season, dropped $1.047 million in lost salary and fines during his 100-day holdout that ended when he reported Tuesday. He was added to the roster after practicing this week, and he was activated 1 1/2 hours before the Denver game. Galloway rejected a $35 million offer, including a $7 million signing bonus, for seven years from the Seahawks during his holdout. He came back to play for what was left of his $1.585 million salary for the final season of his five-year contract signed as a rookie out of Ohio State. Seattle's best player on offense, Galloway caught 65 passes for 1,047 yards and 10 touchdowns last season.
