JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- James Stewart, the leading rusher for the Jacksonville Jaguars, sprained his left foot midway through the third quarter Monday night in their game against Denver.

Stewart was injured when tackled behind by Trevor Pryce on a 1-yard run. He was taken to the locker room, and his return was questionable.

Stewart, coming off reconstructive surgery on his left knee a year ago, has taken advantage of nagging hamstring problems to Fred Taylor by turning in the best season of his career. He had a career-high 810 yards coming into the game.

Although Taylor was available for his first action in a month, Stewart played the whole way and had 79 yards on 18 carries until his injury.
