Pos. Team Analysis
1 Cleveland Browns 2-14
Peter Warrick WR Florida State
Even with defensive need, bet Couch is begging for this.
2 Washington Redskins (1) 10-6
LaVar Arrington LB Penn State
Best impact defensive player since ... oh wait, Kearse.
3 Washington Redskins 10-6 (2)
Chris Samuels OT Alabama
By signing Coleman and Smith, OL is now bigger need.
4 Cincinnati Bengals 4-12
Courtney Brown DE Penn State
The Bengals benefit from the 49ers-Redskins swap.
5 Baltimore Ravens (3) 8-8
Plaxico Burress WR Michigan State
A big WR (see: Moss) can put up big stats in Billick's offense.
6 Philadelphia Eagles 5-11
Corey Simon DE Florida State
Impact player up front vs. both run and pass.
7 Arizona Cardinals 6-10
Thomas Jones RB Virginia
Can the Cards really rely on Murrell or Pittman? No.
8 Pittsburgh Steelers 6-10
Deon Grant S Tennessee
A ballhawk against pass, but needs better tackling skills.
9 Chicago Bears 6-10
Brian Urlacher S/LB New Mexico
Not a believer? Just wait. Urlacher stood out at combine.
10 Denver Broncos 6-10
Bubba Franks TE Miami (Fla.)
We know Franks can catch, but can he talk like Sharpe.
11 New York Giants 7-9
Ron Dayne RB Wisconsin
A Giant-type back, even with "better" backs on the board.
12 San Francisco 49ers (4) 4-12
Chad Pennington QB Marshall
Need to start thinking about a QB of the future.
13 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5) 11-5
Sylvester Morris WR Jackson State
Having filled OL needs, a big target for King is next.
14 Green Bay Packers 8-8
Chris McIntosh OT Wisconsin
Pewaukee native would be good fit with home-state team.
15 Baltimore Ravens 8-8
Shaun Alexander RB Alabama
The Ravens would be ecstatic with this first-round tandem.
16 New York Jets (6) 8-8
Shaun Ellis DE Tennessee
Ellis brings the pass-rushing help the Jets crave.
17 Oakland Raiders 8-8
Travis Taylor WR Florida
Need a steady No. 2 receiver behind Brown.
18 New York Jets 8-8
Stockar McDougle OT Oklahoma
McDougle's stock shot up at Senior Bowl.
19 Seattle Seahawks (7) 8-8
Darren Howard DE Kansas State
Seattle lost DL star Daniels; Adams could still leave.
20 Detroit Lions 8-8
Todd Wade OT Mississippi
Wade was a big surprise at the Senior Bowl, combine.
21 Kansas City Chiefs 9-7
Jamal Lewis RB Tennessee
Chiefs still looking for dominant tailback.
22 Seattle Seahawks 9-7
Dez White WR Georgia Tech
White fits in well with Holmgren's passing attack.
23 Carolina Panthers (8) 8-8
Chris Hovan DT Boston College
Would make nice interior tandem with Gilbert.
24 San Francisco 49ers 4-12 (9)
Ahmed Plummer CB Ohio State
Need big-time help in the secondary. This is a start.
25 Minnesota Vikings 10-6
Cosey Coleman OG Tennessee
Vikes have to restock depleted offensive line.
26 Buffalo Bills 11-5
Julian Peterson LB Michigan State
Athletic LB would add depth to league's top defense.
27 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11-5
Raynoch Thompson LB Tennessee
Nickerson's departure makes LB depth a need.
28 Indianapolis Colts 13-3
Rob Morris LB Brigham Young
Bennett's injury unmasks limited LB depth.
29 Jacksonville Jaguars 14-2
Marvel Smith OT Arizona State
Coughlin loves big lineman; Smith goes 6-6, 305.
30 Tennessee Titans 13-3
Jerry Porter WR West Virginia
McNair needs someone to throw the ball to.
31 St. Louis Rams 13-3
Travis Claridge OL Southern California
Free agent defections make OL a priority.
