MARKHAM, Ill. (AP) -- Green Bay Packers running back De'Mond Parker agreed to attend a court-approved drug course during an appearance in Cook County Circuit Court on a marijuana possession charge.

Prosecutors most often drop charges upon successful completion of the course.

On Tuesday, Judge Thomas O'Hara continued the case until July 26 when the court will get a report on whether Parker has successfully completed the program.

Parker, 23, of Green Bay, Wis., was arrested in the Chicago suburb of Richton Park after seven grams of marijuana were found in an automobile he was sitting in, police said.

They said Parker was parked on the street and loud music was coming from the car. He also was holding a partially burnt hand-rolled cigarette in his hand, which he dropped on the ground when police asked him to leave the auto.

Parker, who played college football at the University of Oklahoma, was with the Packers in 1999. He finished last season on injured reserve with a knee injury.
