Norv Turner Norv Turner could lose his job and the Skins could miss the playoffs after entertaining Super Bowl expectations. AP

After watching his team drop to 7-6 following a 9-7 loss to the New York Giants, Washington owner Daniel Snyder is expected to fire head coach Norv Turner on Monday, says Sports Illustrated's Peter King.

It is a virtual certainty that passing game coordinator Terry Robiskie will be chosen to take over as interim head coach for the final three games of the season.

Contacted Monday morning in his office, Turner declined all comment. Turner told King late Sunday night that he had not heard from Snyder, saying, "I'm going to work tomorrow, I've got a job to do."

The Redskins, among the preseason favorites in the NFC and boasting a $100 million payroll, have lost four of their past five games and would miss the playoffs if the season ended today.

In his seven seasons in Washington, Turner has a 49-59-1 regular-season record.
