Baltimore Ravens at Oakland Raiders
Playoff Wrap up - Sharpe Enough
January 14, 2001
by: Sportvision
How do they do it? Baltimore's defense doesn't seem to care who they're lined up against; they are going to stuff whoever lines up in front of them. Oakland, the top-ranked rush offense and potential MVP Rich Gannon were the latest victims of one of the finest displays of defensive football in recent memory. Baltimore gave up just 211 yards and three points to an Oakland attack that racked up over 30 points a game at home this season. And early in the 2nd quarter, Trent Dilfer connected with Shannon Sharpe for the longest pass play in NFL playoff history, a 96-yard touchdown. It all adds up to 35 -- Super Bowl XXXV against New York.

Points:
- With 11:22 in the 2nd, Trent Dilfer (8) faced 3rd and 18. He went to Shannon Sharpe (82) on the quick slant.
- Sharpe catches the ball in front of S Marquez Pope (49), who misses the INT attempt.
