Baltimore Ravens at Oakland Raiders
Playoff Preview - Fit to be Ty-ed

January 14, 2001
by: Sportvision

Something has to give: Oakland leads the NFL in rushing, with Ty Wheatley battering opponents to the tune of 4.5 yards a rush and over 1000 yards. The Ravens, well, we know, they're one of the best units ever. Oakland will not shy away from the interior Baltimore defense, trying to establish Wheatley between the tackles to take some of the pressure off Rich Gannon. Gannon is at his best with a solid run game. In addition, whoever wins the turnover battle will have the best chance of advancing to the big enchilada down in Tampa.

Coaching Points:

  • Tyrone Wheatley (47) takes the ball from Rich Gannon (12) as the Raiders try to open a hole off the right side.
  • T Lincoln Kennedy (72) releases inside to seal LB Ray Lewis (52). If Lewis isn't accounted for, he'll make every play.
