Minnesota Vikings at New York Giants
Playoff Wrap up - We Like Ike
January 14, 2001
by: Sportvision
New York stunned the Vikings, and much of the football world, with a crushing 41-0 victory in the NFC Championship. Giants QB Kerry Collins came out firing, throwing for over 150 yards in the first quarter alone. Meanwhile, the Giant defense completely befuddled the Viking offense, allowing just 78 yards passing, picking off three passes, and sacking Daunte Culpepper four times. If there was any remaining doubt at the time, Ike Hilliard removed it at the :16 mark of the second quarter with his second TD of the game. Now the unappreciated Giants move on to Tampa for a chance at their third Vince Lombardi Trophy.
