one lesson this season. On Sunday, he will look to give the rookie another when the
Tennessee Titans
battle the
Jacksonville Jaguars
.
McNair had his way with the Jaguars in the Titans' 27-21 victory at Jacksonville on October 26. He outplayed Leftwich, completing 21-of-27 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown.
Tennessee extended its winning streak over Jacksonville to four games and has won nine of the last 11 meetings between the teams, including the 1999 AFC Championship game.
McNair is a big part of that success, completing 64.4 percent of his passes for 2,633 yards and 16 touchdowns in 12 career games against the Jaguars.
Enjoying an MVP-type season, McNair leads the NFL with a 105.1 quarterback rating. He has completed 65.1 percent (151-of-232) of his passes for 1,978 yards and 13 touchdowns with three interceptions.
Eddie George
also was a big part of the Titans' win in Jacksonville, rushing for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Leftwich struggled in the first contest. He went 15-of-27 for 158 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions and lost a fumble being pulled in the fourth quarter.
Last week, McNair continued his big season by completing 17-of-23 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-7 dismantling of Miami.
Tennessee has won four straight and scored at least 30 points in six straight games, tying Indianapolis atop the AFC South.
The Titans are 4-0 at home, and have won nine straight at the Coliseum, dating to last season.
Last week, the Jaguars did the Titans a favor with a surprising 28-23 win over the Colts.
Fred Taylor
rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns. His second TD was a 32-yard run with just over a minute remaining.
Leftwich also had an effective game, passing for 179 yards and a touchdown as the Jaguars stopped a three-game losing streak.
