Vick, the Falcons' electrifying quarterback, was just 6 years old when Atlanta last won its first three games in 1986. But the Falcons stumbled to a 7-8-1 record that season under coach Dan Henning.
Still learning the West Coast offense, Vick was back to his running ways in last week's 34-17 victory over St. Louis. He rushed for 109 yards and also completed 14-of-19 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown.
Vick could be without one of his weapons in the backfield for this contest. Speedy running back
rushed for 43 yards and two TDs against the Rams before leaving the contest with a sprained knee in the fourth quarter.
If Dunn is unable to go, former first-round pick T.J. Duckett, who carried nine times for 52 yards against the Rams, will see most of the playing time.
The Falcons' first two wins have come against NFC West opponents after they opened the season with a 21-19 victory at San Francisco.
Under new coach Jim Mora Jr, a former defensive coordinator, the Falcons have been aggressive defensively. They have forced four turnovers and registered eight sacks in the first two contests.
While the Falcons are off to a fast start under Mora, the Cardinals are looking to give new coach Dennis Green his first victory and avoid their first 0-3 start since 1996.
Despite Green's boasts that system-wise and style-wise that his club probably has the NFL's best offense, the Cardinals have managed a mere two touchdowns in their first two games - both coming from 35-year-old running back
