SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- The
Jacksonville Jaguars
visit Qualcomm Stadium for the first time in their history when they meet the
San Diego Chargers
on Sunday.
The only other meeting between the teams came last October with the Jaguars posting a 27-21 victory behind
Byron Leftwich
, who threw for 336 yards and two touchdowns.
Jimmy Smith
had eight catches for 137 yards.
After winning its first three games, Jacksonville makes the trek to the West Coast coming off its first loss of the season, a 24-17 defeat to the
Indianapolis Colts
. Leftwich had his best game of the season, passing for 318 yards with a touchdown and interception. He had failed to throw for 150 yards in any of his first three contests.
Facing a team from the AFC South Division for the second straight week, the Chargers are coming off their most impressive game of the season, a 38-17 rout of the
Tennessee Titans
.
Drew Brees
passed for three touchdowns and
LaDainian Tomlinson
rushed for 147 yards and a score in the Chargers' most lopsided win since the 2002 season.
Tomlinson has rushed for 415 yards to rank second in the AFC behind
Curtis Martin
. He will go up against a defense that has allowed just one 100-yard rusher over its last 19 games.
