KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- The Kansas City Chiefs probably didn't think they would still be looking for their first home win of the season in Week Seven.

But the Chiefs again will be looking to break into win column at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday when they meet the Atlanta Falcons .

Among the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs have been among the NFL's biggest disappointments.

Defense continues to be a major problem for the Chiefs, who rank 30th in the league in scoring defense by allowing 26.4 points per game.

The Chiefs' defense will receive two straight stern tests starting with facing the explosive Michael Vick in this contest and Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts next week.

Last week, the Chiefs allowed Byron Leftwich to engineer a late 67-yard drive in a 22-16 loss at Jacksonville. Kansas City surrendered 378 total yards.

Kansas City is playing an NFC team for the first time this season.

After struggling for three quarters, Vick came alive in the fourth quarter in last week's 21-20 victory over San Diego. He scored on a 14-yard run early in the fourth, then threw a 32-yard TD pass to Dez White with 10:12 remaining as the Falcons overcame a 10-point deficit.

The Falcons are off to their best start since also going 5-1 in 1998, the only time in club history they reached the Super Bowl. They never have started a season 6-1.

With their hot start, the Falcons already have opened a three-game lead in the NFC South.

Matchup to watch: Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez against strong safety Bryan Scott . Series: Kansas City leads, 4-1, but the teams have not met here since 1991.

Next week: Atlanta visits Denver on October 31 Kansas City hosts Indianapolis on October 31
