IRVING, Texas (Ticker) -- The traditional Thanksgiving Day hosts meet on the final Sunday in October.

The Detroit Lions probably prefer to travel to Dallas after winning their first three road games. This from a franchise that set an NFL record with 24 consecutive road losses.

The streak ended with a season-opening 20-16 win at Chicago. The Lions posted a 17-10 victory at Atlanta on October 10 and defeated the New York Giants , 28-13 last week to improve to 3-0 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys have lost three in a row for the first time under second-year coach Bill Parcells. He called last week's 41-20 loss at Green Bay his "most embarrassing" as Cowboys coach.

"Frankly, that was the low point of my tenure here," Parcells said. "Defensively, we look like we don't know what we're doing."

The Cowboys yielded 480 yards to Green Bay, including 220 on the ground.

Lions quarterback Joey Harrington will get his crack at the Cowboys on Sunday. Harrington was nearly flawless in last week's win at New York, completing 18-of-22 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns.

This trip will be extra special for Lions rookie Roy Williams , who was born in Odessa, Texas and starred at the University of Texas, shattering school records with 241 catches for 3,866 yards and 36 touchdowns. He has 24 catches for 362 yards and five touchdowns with the Lions.

Ironically, the Cowboys have a safety by the same name who attended Oklahoma.

Parcells has a shortage of receivers. Terry Glenn sprained a foot in the first quarter of last week's loss at Green Bay and is expected to miss two weeks. Newly-acquired Quincy Morgan had four catches for 76 yards in his Cowboys' debut last week, but also suffered a hamstring injury.

The injuries forced the Cowboys to throw the ball more to talented tight end Jason Witten , who had eight catches for 112 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown, against the Packers.

The Lions recorded six sacks, including two by end Kalimba Edwards , in last week's win over the Giants.

Last October, the Cowboys rolled to a 38-7 win at Detroit. However, Glenn caught three touchdown passes in that game and will not play Sunday.

The only positive for the Lions was cornerback Dre' Bly's 67-yard fumble return for a touchdown.

Matchup to watch: Roy Williams faces Cowboys left cornerback Terence Newman .

Series: Tied, 8-8.

Next week: Detroit hosts Washington on November 7 Dallas visits Cincinnati on November 7
