CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Warrick Dunn and rookie T.J Duckett ran for touchdowns in a big second quarter as the Atlanta Falcons posted a 27-14 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in the exhibition finale for both teams. Signed as a free agent, Dunn has had an uneventful preseason but scored on a three-yard run early in the second, tying the game at 7-7. The Falcons' first-round pick who will split time with Dunn, Duckett rambled 24 yards for a TD with 8:26 left in the half, giving Atlanta 14-7 lead. Duckett carried six times for 32 yards. Cornerback capped the big second quarter for the Falcons when he intercepted backup Jon Kitna and raced 94 yards for a touchdown. Gus Frerotte, annointed the Bengals' starting quarterback earlier this week, played the first quarter and went 4-of-6 for 67 yards. Kitna was just 3-of-11 for 56 yards and two interceptions. Brandon Bennett and Rudi Johnson ran for touchdowns for the Bengals (2-2), who open the regular season at home against the Cleveland Browns on September 8. The Falcons (3-1) open their season on the road against Green Bay. |
