DETROIT (Ticker) -- Mike McMahon threw a 64-yard touchdown to Mikhael Ricks and first-round draft choice Joey Harrington continued to look impressive at the helm as the Detroit Lions defeated the Buffalo Bills, 20-13. McMahon hit on 5-of-5 passes for 81 yards in limited play while Harrington, drafted No. 3 overall, was 21-of-35 for 187 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Harrington snapped a 10-10 tie early in the third quarter with an 11-yard scoring strike to Aveion Cason. Buffalo starter Drew Bledsoe completed 9-of-16 passes for 128 yards. Peerless Price caught three passes for 67 yards and second-round pick Josh Reed had three receptions for 59 yards for the Bills. The Lions (1-3) open the season on September 8 at Miami. Buffalo (0-4) hosts the AFC East rival New York Jets. |
