PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- A.J. Feeley passed for two short touchdowns as the Philadelphia Eagles posted a 21-16 preseason victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers .

Feeley was cut during training camp last season but re-signed with the club and went 4-1 as the starter down the stretch when quarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Koy Detmer were sidelined with injuries.

This season, Feeley has a roster spot locked up. He had a strong effort in Monday's exhibition contest at New Orleans and was effective again as he completed 9-of-17 passes for just 41 yards.

Feeley tossed touchdown passes of one yard to tight end Kori Dickerson and also found third-round pick Billy McMullen for a one-yard score while playing most of the second and third quarter.

McNabb went 9-of-15 for 77 yards.

Correll Buckhalter , who may replace holdout Duce Staley in the Philadelphia backfield, scored on a one-yard run in the first quarter.

Jerome Bettis ran four yards for a touchdown and Jeff Reed kicked field goals of 33 and 20 yards for the Steelers.

Steelers starter Tommy Maddox went 6-of-13 for 46 yards.

The contest was delayed for 30 minutes by lightning in the third quarter.
