What is the worst incident you have witnessed against an opposing fan or yourself at the ballpark?
  • "An old man who probably had season tickets since the Hayes administration kept yelling at us to 'Sit down, you kids act like you've never been to a game before? Sheesh.' Well, no, actually, we hadn't, because fossils like that guy have been clutching on to their season tickets year after year and keep out those of us who are actually excited to be there."
  • "I've seen beer dumped down the opposition's back and wet willies every time the Packers scored."
  • "Two older women in their late 70s were sitting behind two Bears fans at a Packers-Bears matchup. The Bears scored a touchdown and the Bears fans stood up and cheered. The two old ladies dumped their beers on them when they sat down. Hilarious. The Bears fans didn't know what to do."
  • "Because people can lose season tickets, very little trouble occurs, in fact, I have seen a Bills fan receive free beers from Packers fans. That doesn't really make up for being a Bills fan, but it is a start."
What is your favorite memory from a game at the stadium?
  • "Al Harris' interception for a touchdown to win the 2004 playoff game against Seattle."
  • "The Monday Night Football game against the Vikings in the pouring rain. The game went to overtime and the Packers won the game on a circus touchdown catch by Antonio Freeman."
  • "Brett Favre nailing Donald Driver with a snowball. Brett walking off Lambeau for the last time as a winner."
  • "Bundling up in about 10 layers and wearing battery-powered socks for the 1996 NFC Championship game against Carolina. Minus-23 degree wind-chill. It was worth it to see Reggie White hold the championship trophy over his head in celebration."

  • "I saw a man get into a heated altercation with a woman who was wearing the opponent's jersey. Both seemed intoxicated, and the woman was standing in the row in front of the man, facing him and yelling. The man grabbed the woman by the throat with one hand and launched her down three rows of seats where she landed on a pile on the concrete."
  • "It was an idiot Raiders fan who started a fight because of a call didn't go his way. He starting yelling and cussing and when one of our fans told him to shut up. He started a fight. He was eventually ejected."
  • "A Raiders fan got into the face of my 72-year-old father-in-law, avoiding all of the people his age or younger when the Raiders made a play late in the game to clinch a victory."
What is your favorite memory from a game at the stadium?
  • "First game, first year in Nashville, playing against the Ravens. My dad got club seats from a friend. We sat in the same section as Fred Thompson and Ralph Emery. Everything was so new, all the fans were really excited. I still wear the hat dad bought me at that game."
  • "Rob Bironas making a 60-yard field goal to beat the Colts as time expired a couple of years ago."

What is the worst incident you have witnessed against an opposing fan or yourself at the ballpark?
  • "I've never witnessed any bad behavior toward opposing fans. Hoosiers are very nice people. A little too nice. It hurts our ability to keep opposing fans away and maintain a pure homefield advantage. Clevelanders are vicious but they don't have to worry about a bunch of visiting team fans showing up and embarrassing them, because everyone is too scared to go to a Browns game wearing anything but orange and brown."
  • "I witnessed a New England Patriots fan get sucker punched in the face just walking in the tunnel."
  • "I witnessed myself harass someone for three hours for wearing a Tony Romo jersey. I might have made him cry. If you are out there Romo guy, I am sorry."
  • "We booed a little girl in the Punt, Pass and Kick competition who was wearing a Patriots jersey. Parents should know better than to dress their children in clown clothes."
What is your favorite memory from a game at the stadium?
  • "The "Luke" is too new. However, beating the Pats in the AFC Championship game in the old dome in 2006 was one for the ages. "
  • "It was the dome, during the AFC Championship Game against the Pats two years ago. The moment Marlin Jackson intercepted Tom Brady's pass and ensured us a trip to the Super Bowl. It was the culmination of everything it meant to be a fan. I was sitting next to this guy from Jersey who had been a Colts fan since their Baltimore days, and we started hugging and jumping up and down. We embraced for nearly a minute; then I realized he was crying on my shoulder."

What is the worst incident you have witnessed against an opposing fan or yourself at the ballpark?
  • "Once there was a guy mocking Chargers star Shawne Merriman with a giant poster of a bloody needle."
  • "When I was a season-ticket holder, the fans sitting across from me were brutal. Drunk, swearing, rude, vulgar, aggressive every single game to the opposing fans. One game I witnessed them throwing the hat of the opposing team's fan from the 300 level calling him every homophobic name in the book and spitting in his face. You could tell this person didn't get to go to many games and this is how they were treated for rooting for a team other than the 'Hawks, I'm a lifelong 'Hawks fan but the actions by the hometown fans and the non-action by security were the reasons I didn't renew my season tickets and go to such few games in person."
  • "During last year's Redskins playoff game, an undercover cop walked up and down our aisle for half the game, wearing a 'Skins jersey, mocking the 'Hawks fans and refusing to sit down. After two quarters, a Hawks fan finally snapped and pushed him. The fan was quickly handcuffed and escorted out. It was the sickest display of entrapment I have ever seen by stadium security."
What is your favorite memory from a game at the stadium?
  • "Tony Romo's fumble in the 2007 NFC wild-card game. Matt Hasselbeck still had more than a minute to get the Hawks into field-goal range, even if the kick been good. Seeing a Cowboy weeping into his hands on the Qwest Field turf was a golden moment."
  • "The 2005 NFC Championship Game. The game was over early and it was a party for the whole second half. I've never had so much fun at a sporting event. High-fiving and hugging complete strangers!"
  • "I love the crowd noise, I love the raising of the 12th man flag, and I love watching the Seahawks play well. My favorite memory is probably last year when Mack Strong raised the 12th man flag. It brought tears to my eyes because he was such a stable cornerstone of the franchise for so long."

  • "Browns fans were being pelted with snowballs, but then again, that was pretty funny."
  • "The guy who sits in front of me harassed a Browns fan and his young daughter the entire game until the father and daughter finally left early in the fourth quarter. In a later incident, he punched a Jets fan in the face during a playoff game. I reported him to security and also wrote a letter to the team requesting that he not be allowed to attend games. They made him sit out the AFC Championship Game the next week but he was back the following season. He has been on his best behavior since then. In general, people use attending a football game as an excuse to drink to excess."
  • "Last year during the Steelers-Jaguars playoff game, I witnessed a Jacksonville fan get the hell beat out of him, but he was running his mouth so bad to all of the Steelers fans. You do not do that! You never run your mouth especially when you just beat a team in the playoffs at their field."
What is your favorite memory from a game at the stadium?
  • "The game was a so-so blowout of the Redskins, but what made it memorable is that I had a broken foot and a seat in the nosebleeds. The stadium staff treated me like royalty getting me to and from my seat in a wheelchair. I even got a little mini-tour of the loge area."

Then all the Broncos fans in the section blamed the altercation on the Bengals fan, who got kicked out of the game."

  • "At a game in 2007, a Tampa Bay fan decked out in pirate gear was egging the crowd on. People were getting annoyed but surprisingly enough, ignored him for the most part. Then he kept it up wanting a reaction. Someone stole his "clapping" hat and he complained to security. Turns out, he didn't have a ticket for the seats he was in and was ejected. Instant Karma."
  • "To be honest I have never seen an opposing fan treated poorly. Saints fans are rowdy but very happy-go-lucky. Good-natured ribbing followed by handshakes at the end are what we see most often, even when the Falcons are in town. I have engaged in chanting against an opposing team's fans, but we always shake hands at the end win or lose. That is in stark contrast to how we Saints fans were treated by the hooligans and thugs that attend Bears games. They threw beer at us, made fun of Hurricane Katrina, cursed at the women and did not care that children were present. Very low class."
  • "I attended the Saints-Jets game where tackle Kyle Turley tore off the helmet of a Jets defensive player for roughing up former Saints QB Aaron Brooks. After that game there was much tension between opposing fans and I saw plenty fist fights where blood was drawn and noses broken. I witnessed a lot of arrests that day."
What is your favorite memory from a game at the stadium?
  • "The reopening in September 2006 after Hurricane Katrina. That whole experience (U2 and Green Day, parties all day outside, the emotional rush, and the trouncing of a divisional opponent) beat any event I have been to including the Indy 500, Game 2 of the 2003 World Series, Mardi Gras and the Sugar Bowl."
  • "The Monday night home opener after Katrina was one of the best days of my life. The emotion in the city that day was indescribable."
  • "I've been to both playoff wins in Saints history but any fan who was there will tell you that it was never better than 2006 opening night at the Dome against the Atlanta Falcons. Every once in a while a game can transcend sports. This was one of those moments."

  • "After a loss, a fan of the opposing team went to shake the hand of a Ravens fan. The Ravens fan turned and farted on the guys hand. I personally thought it was hilarious. But I guess if you're the guy who just had his hand farted on, it might be kind of messed up."
  • "I'll never forget when the Steelers were in town, and as we all know, the Steelers have a huge contingent. This was just a group of four Steelers fans, one fan was an elderly Steelers fan waving her Terrible Towel to this group of Ravens fans. It was funny, until all of the sudden one Raven fan took the old lady's towel and started stomping it on the ground and threw it on top of their grill, took it out with tongs and proceeded to urinate on it to put out the fire. The worst and grossest, and probably one of the funniest, things I have ever seen."
What is your favorite memory from a game at the stadium?
  • "Opening Day in the first season of the stadium. I believe Bill Cowher said it was the most excitement he had ever seen in a city for a singular sporting event. I concur with his opinion. M&T Bank Stadium absolutely provides the best atmosphere in the NFL to watch a game. Having been to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, D.C., New England, New Orleans and Kansas City, I know this is true. The fans are rabid and intelligent."
  • "The first playoff game held in Baltimore in my lifetime, a 21-3 victory over Denver on Dec. 31, 2000. It was the first step on the run to the Super Bowl."
  • "When QB Jim Harbaugh gave the game ball to Johnny Unitas after the Ravens beat the Colts in their first game in Baltimore in 1998."

  • "An opposing team's fan was drunk, and every time his team did something good he would stand up and mock the Jags. The Jags won the game with a last-second field goal. A Jags fan, carrying his toddler on his back, walked by the other team's fan and the toddler took a swing at the fan and knocked his hat off while the crowd went wild!"

The goalpost was ripped down and carried down Route 1 where the post hit a power line and the fans were [nearly] electrocuted. It was scary, but it seems pretty funny now. • "Opening night against Pittsburgh in 2002. Former President Bush flipped the coin and the Super Bowl banner was unveiled. My dad has been a ticket holder since the mid-'60s and as we walked to our seats in Section 138, I think I saw tears in his eyes. Boston sports fans have had the worst stadiums. • "That one is easy. It just happened last weekend. I took my 8-year-old to his first NFL game. We live in Pelham, N.H. We drove more than eight hours each way to get to the game. They had some fun things going on inside the field house on game day, and then we got to watch the Bills mount another fourth-quarter comeback to win the game."
  • "Seeing Frank Reich dismantle the Houston Oilers in the greatest comeback game ever."
  • "My first game ever: I was 10 years old in November, 1988, when I saw the goalposts come down after the crowd stormed the field when Scott Norwood kicked the winning field goal for us to beat the Jets 9-6 in overtime. We won the division earlier than any other team had, but to me it was amazing because of the spectacle of it all. We were in the far top corner of the upper deck and it was miserable and rainy throughout the game -- we were decked out in our finest garbage bags -- and I came in knowing absolutely zero about football. My grandfather explained it all to me as the game progressed, and it was love at first sight. Being from Buffalo, we're used to being the whipping boys of not only the NFL but also the USA -- and it was great to be able to celebrate not just the team but the city."
