Game at a Glance
|
|
Key Play:
Denver's Terrell Davis ran around the left end for 17 yards to the Green Bay 1-yard line to set up the winning touchdown, which the Packers later said they gave up on purpose, hoping their offense could tie the game in the final minute.
Key Stat:
The Broncos won despite a season-low 123 passing yards from John Elway. Three turnovers forced by the Denver defense and three TDs by Davis were enough for the win.
Hero:
Davis, who fought off a migraine so bad he couldn't see in the second quarter, rushed for 157 yards and a Super Bowl record three touchdowns, including the game-winner.
Goat:
On Denver's game-winning drive, Green Bay's Darius Holland gave the Broncos a 15-yard head start with a facemask penalty on a short run by Davis. The Broncos never looked back.
Quote Me:
"This erases a lot of the bad memories, a lot of the bad
feelings. Now we just want to sit back and enjoy it," said
Denver's Tyrone Braxton, one of three Broncos who were around the last time Denver lost a Super Bowl.
