January 15, 1967
Green Bay wideout Max McGee had caught only four passes all year, and didn't figure to see any action backing up Boyd Dowler. So McGee didn't feel guilty about breaking curfew the night before the game. After partying until 7:30 a.m., McGee thanked his lucky stars that he wasn't going to play. By the end of the game he was thanking his lucky Starr. After Dowler dislocated his shoulder, Starr threw McGee two touchdown passes as the Packers routed the Chiefs. Despite wobbly legs, McGee caught seven passes for 138 yards. Starr passed for 250 yards and converted 10 of 13 third-down situations to win the MVP award.
