Super Bowl IV

The Chiefs, who entered the game as 13-point underdogs, took advantage of five Vikings turnovers and dominated the game. By the time the halftime show featuring trumpeter Al Hirt began, Kansas City was up 16-0 and had 10 first downs to Minnesota's four. Dawson had suffered a hellish seasonmissing six games with a knee injury and enduring the death of his father at the end of the year. Then, five days before the Super Bowl, Dawson was informed that he would be called to testify in a federal investigation into sports gambling. Dawson put his problems behind him and played brilliantly, completing 12 of 17 passes to lead the Chiefs to victory in the last AFL-NFL Super Bowl.
