The Cowboys and the Colts watched as O'Brien kicked a 32-yard field goal with five seconds left to clinch the win.

Miami, Orange Bowl

The first Super Bowl to be played on artificial turf offered the Colts an opportunity to finally lay to rest their defeat in Super Bowl III. In an ugly game marred by 10 turnovers, Earl Morrall came off the bench to replace an injured Johnny Unitas late in the first half and managed to generate enough offense to lead the Colts to the title. Jim O'Brien kicked a 32-yard field goal with five seconds left to break a 13-13 tie. Howley remains the only Super Bowl MVP to play for a losing team.
