The Giants concluded a commanding playoff run in which they outscored three playoff opponents by a combined 82 points. Denver led 10-9 at the half, but New York scored 30 points after the break to seal its first title since 1956. Simms was dazzling, completing 22 of his 25 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns. Simms, who was booed by Giants fans when New York drafted him in 1979, said following the game, "I've never played better." Who could argue?
