The Giants squeaked by as Norwood (11) missed a 47-yard field goal with eight seconds left.
January 27, 1991
Tampa Stadium

You just have to wonder ... What would have happened if Buffalo kicker Scott Norwood had made that 47-yard field goal with eight seconds left? If Norwood's kick hadn't sailed just wide, would the next three seasons—not to mention the next three Super Bowls—have ended differently for the Bills? Maybe Buffalo would have won another championship or two, or perhaps the Bills wouldn't have made it back to the Super Bowl at all. It's impossible to say, but nothing can take away from New York's win. The Giants dominated the time of possession and kept the high-powered Bills offense off the field for most of the second half. The Giants scratched out the win on the ground, with Anderson racking up 102 yards on 21 carries.
