After years of being obscured by Joe Montana's ample shadow, Steve Young finally got the "he hasn't won a title" monkey off his back. The 49ers' fifth Super Bowl win was clinched both in the boardroom and on the field. San Francisco president Carmen Policy played the salary-cap game better than anyone else in the league, and free-agent signees such as Deion Sanders, Ken Norton Jr., Richard Dent and Rickey Jackson made the Niners' defense as good as their offense. Young threw for 325 yards and a record six touchdowns, and even led all rushers with 49 yards.
