ATLANTA (CNN/SI) -- Week 2 featured the re-emergence of the running game, which was outpaced by quarterbacks and receivers in Week 1 of the NFL. Seven running backs gained 100 or more yards -- led by Dorsey Levens of the Packers, with 153 -- and three others rushed for more than 90.

That stands in stark contrast to last week, when only four managed more than 100 yards, and the highest total belonged to Colts' rookie Edgerrin James with 112.

James again broke the 100-yard barrier for the Colts, gaining 118 yards on 32 carries and scoring a touchdown.

Emmitt Smith continued to carve his place in history on Monday night, passing former Cowboy Tony Dorsett to move into fourth place on the all-time rushing list with 12,783 yards after the Cowboys 24-7 win over the Falcons. Smith also extended his career rushing touchdowns record by finding the endzone twice to boost his total to 128 rushing touchdowns in his 10-year NFL career.

The top quarterback performance belonged to the Titans' Neil O'Donnell, who passed for 310 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions in Tennessee's victory over the Browns. The Vikings' Randall Cunningham threw for big yardage -- 364 yards and two touchdowns -- but had two interceptions in Minnesota's lost to the Oakland Raiders.

On the receiving end, Marvin Harrison of the Colts caught seven passes for 105 yards and three touchdowns. The Seahawks' Derrick Mayes had 137 yards on seven carries and a touchdown in Seattle's victory over the Bears.

On the defensive side, Warren Sapp made four solo tackles, assisted on three others and had 3.5 sacks in the Buccaneers victory over the Eagles.
