CNNSI.com's Jon A. Dolezar reviews the Week 7 games.

Week Seven
Indianapolis 35 at Kansas City, Mo.
   Kansas City 28 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 4.67 -- Trent Green's interception percentage this season after throwing three more picks in 43 attempts Thursday night.
Player of the Game Dominic Rhodes, RB, Indianapolis: Provided the Colts with the offensive spark they've been missing lately, returning a kick 88 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter and then breaking a long touchdown run of 77 yards with 1:02 to play.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown Kansas City outgained Indianapolis 415-373 but the three turnovers killed the Chiefs' chances. The key for the Colts was Peyton Manning's ability to keep the ball out of the hands of the guys in the red jerseys, as he avoided throwing a pick for the second consecutive game. Indianapolis rushed for 194 yards, with Edgerrin James getting 102 yards on 27 carries before leaving with a minor knee injury. Marvin Harrison caught eight passes for the third game in a row, netting 98 yards and a touchdown to give him seven scores this season. Second-year linebacker Marcus Washington had eight total tackles and 2.5 sacks, giving him 5.5 in six games this season.

Tampa Bay 41 at Tampa, Fla.
   Minnesota 14 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 25.4 -- Points by which the Bucs outscored their previous season average of 15.6 per game.
Player of the Game Mike Alstott, RB, Tampa Bay: Was dominant filling in for Warrick Dunn, rushing 28 times for 129 yards and three touchdowns.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown Team Chaos was at it again Sunday, as the Vikings continued to snipe at each other on the sideline. About the only thing Minnesota will lead the league in this season is arguments within camera range. The enigmatic Vikings played a horrible game only one week after routing the Packers by 22 points. Minnesota's awful running game managed only 62 yards on 18 carries for a paltry average of 3.4 yards per carry.

New Orleans 34 at St. Louis
   St. Louis 31 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 3 -- Consecutive seasons the Rams have lost in Week 7 after starting the season 6-0.
Player of the Game Aaron Brooks, QB, New Orleans: Completed 20 of 31 for 254 yards and three touchdowns, with all of the scores coming in a furious 7 1/2-minute flurry in the third quarter to bring the Saints back.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown Live by the sword and die by the sword. The Rams' quick-strike offense has apparently bred a quick-strike surrendering defense as well. New Orleans came out for the second half looking like a completely different team, and the Saints' amazing second-half rally resulted in Kurt Warner's first home loss after 16 consecutive victories. Warner was picked off four times and Trung Canidate fumbled four times as the Rams couldn't take care of the football.

   Chicago 37 at Chicago
   San Francisco 31 (OT) Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 7.05 -- Yards per carry for Bears rookie running back Anthony Thomas in the past four games, during which he has rushed 61 times for 430 yards and three touchdowns.
Player of the Game Shane Matthews, QB, Chicago: Cut by the Bears two weeks ago today and then re-signed the following Tuesday, Matthews came off the bench to replace the injured Jim Miller and was brilliant, completing 25 of 31 for 166 yards and three touchdowns.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown The Bears didn't panic when they fell behind by 15 with 7:47 to play. Matthews led Chicaco on two long scoring drives to force overtime, where Mike Brown's interception heroics lifted the Bears to 5-1. No. 8 overall draft pick David Terrell caught three passes for 19 yards and two touchdowns in the first significant contribution of his rookie season.

   Cincinnati 31 at Pontiac, Mich.
   Detroit 27 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 3.2 -- Difference in yards per carry between the Bengals (6.1) and Lions (2.9).
Player of the Game Corey Dillon, RB, Cincinnati: Dominated on the ground with 27 carries for 184 yards and two touchdowns, giving him seven career games of 140 or more rushing yards.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown The last time the Bengals won their fourth game this early in a season was 1990. Cincinnati has only won four games in a season six times in the past decade, making their 4-3 start all the more surprising. The Lions fell to 0-6, making this their worst start since 1955. Detroit turned the ball over three times, allowed four sacks and committed nine penalties.

   Baltimore 18 at Baltimore
   Jacksonville 17 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 82 -- Rushing yards for Ravens rookie running back Jason Brookins, who was filling in for injured veteran Terry Allen.
Player of the Game Randall Cunningham, QB, Baltimore: Making his first start in almost a year, Cunningham completed 23 of 31 for 222 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown Early in the fourth quarter, the Super Bowl champs were down 17-6 and in danger of falling to 3-4. But poised veteran Cunningham led Baltimore on two sustained scoring drives that culminated in 2-yard scoring plays. Jacksonville played an impressive game up until the fourth quarter, with Mark Brunell throwing for 306 yards and two touchdowns and Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell combining for 17 catches and 237 yards.

New York 13 at Charlotte, N.C.
   Carolina 12 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 13 -- Points scored by kickers John Hall (7) and John Kasay (6) in this defensive-minded game in which no offensive touchdowns were scored.
Player of the Game Curtis Martin, RB, New York: Rushed for a season-high 159 yards on 27 carries, giving him four 100-yard efforts in his past six games.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown The Jets dominated the game on the ground by rushing 34 times for 186 yards and keeping possession for 36:37. The only reason Carolina was even in the game was Rashard Anderson's 94-yard return of a Richie Anderson fumble in the first quarter. The Panthers had only seven first downs and converted only 2-of-15 chances on third downs.

   Dallas 17 at Irving, Texas
   Arizona 3 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 87 -- Interceptions thrown by Jake Plummer in his 58 career games, after tossing two more in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.
Player of the Game Dexter Coakley, LB, Dallas: Finished with six total tackles and salted away the win with a 10-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown The Cowboys used their third starting quarterback of the season, and No. 4 may not be far behind since Clint Stoerner struggled against the Cardinals. Stoerner completed only 9 of 18 for 93 yards and one interception in his first career start, leaving the door open for the possibility that Ryan Leaf could get the nod next Sunday against the Giants.

   Washington 35 at Landover, Md.
   New York 21 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 2 -- Consecutive games in which Stephen Davis had fallen 1 yard short of 100 yards prior to rushing for 107 yards on 29 carries against the Giants.
Players of the Game Tony Banks, QB, Washington: Past trangressions aside, Banks is starting to play well, as evidenced by his effective 11-for-19 passing performance for 190 yards and two touchdowns.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown The Redskins looked a far cry from the team they were early in the season. Washington moved the ball against a good Giants defense. New York managed 346 passing yards on 52 attempts, but rushed for only 42 yards. Redskins wide receiver Kevin Lockett caught three passes for 46 yards and also threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Derrius Thompson.

San Diego 27 at San Diego
   Buffalo 24 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 8.9 -- Difference between Doug Flutie's quarterback rating (87.9) and that of Rob Johnson (79.0), but Flutie's team is 5-2 while Johnson's is 1-5.
Player of the Game Doug Flutie, QB, San Diego: Beat his former team by completing 21 of 33 for 254 yards and one touchdown and won the game on a 13-yard scramble for a touchdown with 1:10 to play.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown Ah, revenge is sweet. Flutie showed Tom Donahoe and Gregg Williams up by doing what he does best -- not turning the ball over and winning a game with his ability to get out of trouble. Johnson threw for 310 yards and rushed for 67, but it wasn't enough to beat his former sparring mate.

   Miami 24 at Seattle
   Seattle 20 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 60.0 -- Rian Lindell's field-goal percentage (9 of 15) after making only 2-of-4 attempts against the Dolphins.
Player of the Game James McKnight, WR, Miami: Caught eight passes for 94 yards and the game-winning, 39-yard touchdown from Jay Fielder with 6:16 to play.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown Matt Hasselbeck finally played a decent game (230 yards and two touchdowns) to get the home crowd off his case temporarily, but then Mike Holmgren made a questionable call that may have cost the Seahawks the game. Holmgren's choice to try for a field goal with two minutes left on fourth-and-4 proved fatal when Lindell shanked it to the left.

   Denver 31 at Denver
   New England 20 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 52.9 -- Tom Brady's quarterback rating against the Broncos (25 of 38 for 203 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions).
Player of the Game Denard Walker, CB, Denver: Made six total tackles and picked off two passes, including one he ran back 38 yards for a touchdown to seal the game with 2:24 to play.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown The battle of former Big Blue quarterbacks was surprisingly one-sided in Brian Griese's favor. Griese completed 19 of 30 for 283 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Rod Smith couldn't be covered by the Patriots' secondary, grabbing six of Griese's passes for 159 yards and a touchdown.

   Oakland 20 at Philadelphia
   Philadelphia 10 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 40:09 -- Time of possession for the Raiders, who rushed the ball 47 times for 202 yards.
Player of the Game Charlie Garner, RB, Oakland: Haunted his former team with 77 rushing yards and a touchdown on 21 carreis.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown A week after a thrilling comeback win against the Giants, the Eagles couldn't repeat the trick against the Raiders. Oakland led 10-3 at halftime and then scored twice more in the second half to take a 20-3 lead early in the fourth quarter, before allowing a meaningless touchdown with 2:28 left. Donovan McNabb played his poorest game of the season, completing only 12 of 27 for 133 yards.

   Pittsburgh 34 at Pittsburgh
   Tennessee 7 Recap
Game Summary
Key Stat 232 -- Passing yards by Kordell Stewart, just his second 200-yard game in two years.
Player of the Game Plaxico Burress, WR, Pittsburgh: The eighth overall pick in the 2000 draft had his first 100-yard game, catching six passes for 151 yards.
CNNSI.com's Breakdown We know the Steelers can run. We also know they can play defense. But if this passing thing holds up -- a season-high 272 yards -- a team that is off to a 5-1 start could become more dangerous. The Titans couldn't run (57 yards) or defend (405 allowed), and looked even worse trying.
