BARCELONA 19, RHEIN 10

RHEIN, Germany (Ticker) -- Lawrence Phillips rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns as the Barcelona Dragons defeated the Rhein Fire, 19-10.

Phillips, who is trying to earn a return trip to the NFL, carried 22 times. He scored on runs of four and one yards as Barcelona (2-0) built a 19-7 lead 51 seconds before halftime.

Todd Bouman completed 20-of-32 passes for 225 yards with a touchdown and interception for the Dragons. He opened the scoring 5:31 into the first quarter with a 23-yard strike to Brian Finneran.

The Dragons, who are tied atop the standings with the Scottish Claymores, had possession for more than 35 minutes and held Rhein (0-2) to only 12 first downs.

Mike Cherry completed only 14-of-32 passes for 144 yards and an interception. He accounted for the Fire's lone TD, hitting Anthony McKinney from 14 yards as Rhein got within 13-7 early in the second quarter.

Derrick Clark gained 57 yards on 10 rushes for the Fire, who are tied with Berlin for last place.

Barcelona's Jesus Angoy missed a pair of field-goal attempts in front of 25,281 fans.
