AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (Ticker) -- The Rhein Fire completed a season sweep of the Amsterdam Admirals with a 36-25 victory as Jim Arellanes tossed three touchdown passes. Arellanes, the reigning Offensive Player of the Week, picked up where he left off with a spectacular 57-yard touchdown pass to Dialleo Burks less than two minues into the game after Admirals quarterback Mike Cawley fumbled on the opening possession. Amsterdam answered with a 42-yard field goal by Silvio Diliberto, but Robert Thomas blocked a punt and the resulting safety put the Fire (3-3) ahead, 9-3. With 18 seconds left in the first uarter, Arellanes found Jason Tucker for a three-yard TD toss and a 13-point cushion. Another Admirals' fumble on the ensuing kickoff was recovered by linebacker Ben Hanks. Arellanes quickly hit Tucker for a 47-yard score, extending Rhein's lead to 23-3. Amsterdam found the end zone on Joe Aska's 22-yard dash, but the Fire simply moved into scoring position on a 50-yard bomb from Arellanes to Kez McCorvey, settling for Jeff Sauve's 43-yard field goal. Aska scored again from two yards out, but the Admirals trailed at halftime, 26-16. Burgsmuller connected on a 26-yard field goal midway through the third quarter before Derrick Clark ran 30 yards for his 20th career touchdown. Clark remained tied for the league record with Frankfurt wide receiver Mario Bailey. Diliberto kicked a 33-yard field goal before Cawley connected with tight end Cory Geason for a four-yard touchdown in the final minute.
