AMSTERDAM (Ticker) -- Jim Kubiak threw three touchdown passes and James Kidd scored three times as the Amsterdam Admirals withstood a late rally to edge the Scottish Claymores, 30-22. Safety Greg Williams had three interceptions for Amsterdam (4-6), which built a 30-14 lead on a six-yard TD pass from Kubiak to Cory Geason midway through the fourth quarter before the Claymores fought back. Carolina Panthers-allocated quarterback Dameyune Craig threw a five-yard TD pass to Donald Sellers to close the gap to 30-22 with 2:36 left. The drive was kept alive when an interception by Keith Council was called back for holding. Chris Dolan's onside kick was recovered by Sellers and Craig moved the Claymores downfield. Craig found Sellers in the end zone on 2nd-and-goal, but the wideout was unable to keep his feet in bounds. A delay of game penalty saw the Claymores face a long third down and Chicago Bears-allocated defensive back Williams claimed his third interception to snuff the comeback attempt. Kubiak was intercepted on the game's opening drive before throwing a 26-yard TD strike to Kidd for the only scoring of the first quarter. Silvio Diliberto struck the upright with the extra point. Scotland (4-6) took a 7-6 lead on a one-yard run by Jesse Haynes before Kidd responded by taking the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for a score and give the Admirals a 13-7 halftime lead. Amsterdam increased its lead to 16-7 on a 29-yard field goal by Francesco Biancamano. A second one-yard TD run by Haynes cut the lead to 16-14. The Claymores missed a golden opportunity after Sellers blocked a punt deep in Amsterdam territory. A 32-yard field goal attempt by Rob Hart was blocked and Clyde Johnson raced 44 yards until Kevin Drake caught him. Kubiak found Kidd with five-yard TD pass to increase the lead to 23-14 early in the final quarter.
