Love added to Grand Slam Former PGA champion will join Olazabal, Lawrie, WoodsPosted: Monday November 22, 1999 02:47 PM
PALM BEACH GARDEN, Florida (Ticker) -- Davis Love has been named to replace the late Payne Stewart in the 1999 PGA Grand Slam of Golf later this month. The $1 million Grand Slam of Golf is a two-day, match-play event that features the winners of the year's four major championships. The tournament will be held November 23-24 in Hawaii. Love will join Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabal, British Open champiopn Paul Lawrie and PGA champion Tiger Woods. The 1997 PGA champion, Love earned the berth based on his peformance in the four major championships in 1999.
Stewart, the winner of the U.S. Open, was killed in a plane
crash last month.
